Description
Work Scope: (OAAS LANEY - 2ND STORY EXPANSION - FRONT 5 BUILDING) This building is fire sprinklered for code trade-offs. To expand the 2nd story within an existing office tenant space by about 331 square feet. After the expansion, the 2nd story of this tenant space will have a total floor area of about 1,851 square feet (34 occupant load) and the 1st story of this tenant space will continue to have a floor area of about 2,665 square feet (43 occupant load). The volume of this tenant space will not change. Work is to include bearing walls, wood joists, wood sheathing, lightweight gypcrete floor topping, guards, and finishes. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department.
The Fire Sprinkler scope consists of tapping into the existing over head system and dropping a 1.25” line to supply 4 new upright heads into a new office space. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2006, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to BLD07-01707.
When tenant work affects fire sprinkler protection outside the permitted work area due to the installation of tenant-demising or new partition walls, the affected area sprinkler coverage outside the BLD permit will fall under the Fire Permit scope of work, to maintain the required fire protection within the fire sprinklered facility. The “Riser” and its supplies which include all appurtenances (including tamper, alarm and alarm monitoring) relating to the normal and correct function and integrity of this system will fall under the jurisdiction for code compliant verification. Revised Work Scope: These plans were modified during construction. The review consisted of the As-Built changes. The approved system remote area including 3 heads were affected.
