Work Scope: (DALTILE - SCAFCO CORP BLDG) To construct a 21,000 square feet warehouse, showroom and office tenant in a new shell building per approved plans. Scope of work includes: a chain link fence on the rear of the building for product storage, [non-bearing interior partition walls creating a warehouse area, two accessible restrooms, a break room, two offices, utility room, a showroom, and a contractor service area], new electrical, new mechanical system, and interior finishes in compliance with Chapter 8 of the 2003 IBC. Warehouse space is approximately 17,073 square feet, showroom is approximately 1,520 square feet (considered accessory per 302.2), and office area including restrooms is approximately 2,407 square feet. Any racking installed exceeding 8 ft. in height will require a separate racking permit. This building is fire sprinklered for area increase.
The fire sprinkler work includes dropping 27 pendant heads into a new ceiling through out the Showroom and Contractor Services areas. The existing upright protection above the ceiling will be removed and the outlets are to be plugged.
The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2006, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to BLD07-03162.
When tenant work affects fire sprinkler protection outside the permitted work area due to the installation of tenant-demising or new partition walls, the affected area sprinkler coverage outside the BLD permit will fall under the Fire Permit scope of work, to maintain the required fire protection within the fire sprinklered facility. The “Riser” and its supplies which include all appurtenances (including tamper, alarm and alarm monitoring) relating to the normal and correct function and integrity of this system will fall under the jurisdiction for code compliant verification.

Three pendant heads located along the north wall exceed the 196 sq. ft. per head as specified on the permit application and the review comments. They have not been installed as per the plans which show them at 14' apart. They are installed at 16' apart. Provide verification that the heads can remain or relocate the heads to match the approved plans. Piping can be covered anyway. I will verify additional hangers if required at the final.
