This fire alarm permit is to provide total notification and total area coverage (automatic detection) on the entire 8th floor. The existing required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall/shutdown fire/smoke damper control and all items required for a high rise. This fire permit is to replace existing FIR05-00891 due to the original fire alarm vendor being replaced.

Associated building permit: BLD05-03074 (HOFF BUILDING - 8TH STORY - CORE UPGRADES) This building is fire sprinklered because it is a high-rise building. To remodel the 8th story core area of the Hoff Building. The total floor area of the 8th story is about 4,017 square feet. Except for an electrical room that has its only egress door directly into the interior stairway, all areas on the 8th story shall have access to both stairways without passing through the interior stairway or through a tenant space. Work is to include selective demolition, a 2-hr stair enclosure wall, a 90 minute stair enclosure door, and an interior corridor wall. This permit does NOT establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any tenant. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, the plan review report, and all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
