Description	FIR OH Scope: 10/28/08 Corrected plans and calculations have been provided. The ECHSW heads have been changed to Pendant heads. The revision is noted as Revision #3 and dated 10/15/08. FIR OH Scope: Beginning from an existing 6” supply, install a 4” RPZ back flow device and wet riser to serve through out the warm areas and an auxiliary anti-freeze system to serve the cold areas. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2006, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to BLD08-00896 & UG permit FIR08-00514.

I spoke to Brian Johnson and to Andy, the builder, about the PIV that was shown to be installed on the overhead sprinkler plans has not been installed. Per the separate underground permit FIR08-00514 no PIV was being installed. The PIV needs to be installed, a wall PIV approved by the city of boise installed or the one hour room with exterior access provided. Brian stated that he would contact me with a solution.

The southwest canopy can be covered. The east canopy can not be covered due to cpvc piping being installed where as the plans indicate steel piping is to be installed. Plans either need to be resubmitted or piping is to be installed as per the plans. Also the upright sprinkler heads through out the rest of the building have not been installed as per NFPA 13 8.6.5.2.1.6 and exhibit 8.20. The general contractor also stated that he would install insulation in the eaves of the tower located on the southwest corner of the building. This space is considered a combustible concealed space.

Troy Cobbley reported that during the underground inspection today, the overhead sprinkler piping was observed to be mostly installed; installation deficiencies were also apparent. He advised Randy Knudson that a stop work order will be posted and a double fee will apply to the permit when issued.
