Spoke to Tyler with Eidam and Associates regarding areas in the building that do not require visual notification. I explained that in employee work areas (not including breakrooms, bathrooms etc..) that visual devices are not required as long as audibility requirements have been met and as long as the circuit has expansion capabilities to add a strobe should a hearing impaired person become an employee. Also discussed were storage areas. I told him that code does not require visual notification in storage areas. We also discussed the 2nd floor 'future expansion' area. He said there were existing devices in that area that do not work and wanted to know if he should remove them or replace them. I told him as long as that space was not being occupied or used, he could remove the devices in that space with the understanding that a new FIR permit will need to be pulled in order to occupy that area.

Provide test reports, get decision from sam rogers on the "future expansion" on the second floor (no notification is functional), and provide modifications as required due to the strobes being blocked on the first floor due to shelving.
