The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding a new underground supply, riser and adding 3 new sprinklers. This is an existing building and has an existing fire protection system. The existing fire protection system did not have a permanent supply and was supplied from a FDC ONLY.

(INTERFAITH SANCTUARY) To remodel an existing 9833 sq ft. homeless shelter this project is to be done in phases this is the first phase. Work to include, connecting the existing fire sprinkler system to a water supply, installation of a new fire alarm system, construction of interior partitions to create an exit corridor, There will be an Upgrade Agreement to complete the remainder of the work required in the building. Temporary occupancy of this structure was allowed under permit MIS07-00226. NOTE: SEPARATE PERMITS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR THE FIRE SPRINKLER WORK AND TO INSTALL FIRE ALARM SYSTEM. This building will be fully fire sprinklered and will have a fire alarm system under phase. RMH

Spoke with Tony Larson regarding heads around the new walls. He indicated to me with dimensions that the new walls that go to the deck do not pose a problem to the existing fire protection. The space still has adequate fire protection without any over spaced sprinklers. He was not sure if the back door area had fire protection. He said if it did not have adequate fire protection that it would be added. I indicated that I would mark the plans to verify in the field which I did.
