There is a diesel driven fire pump rated at 3000 GPM @ 125 PSI in a separate building. There are twelve lead ins.

Partial Review ONLY

This is a partial review of the wet systems only. The dry systems and ancillary buildings will follow at a later date. The fire pump equipment has been reviewed but NOT the fire pump building since the plans are incomplete. System 9 has not been reviewed since the rack drawings have not been provided.

Building Scope

Winco Foods Distribution Center (Shell Only) - To construct a new 712,555 square foot, one story, concrete tilt-up and steel frame warehouse shell building and related site improvements. This building will contain dry goods, cooler and freezer warehouse areas, as well as, office and maintenance support areas. This building is fully fire sprinkled. The sprinklers are used for area. This building is an unlimited area building. Minimum 60 foot open yards and public ways must be maintained around this building. This permit is for a cold shell only and no occupancy is allowed under this permit. A separate tenant improvement permit is required to finish this building for occupancy. Separare permits are required to construct the other proposed accessory buildings. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. DRH07-00594 JCM

Discussed 13' versus 12" between levels of in rack sprinklers in the class IIIB liquid racks. There were representatives from Treasure Valley Fire Protection, Epstein, City of Boise, Winco (via Phone), FM (via Phone) present at the meeting. The discussion focused on NFPA and FM standards states that 12' is maximum allowed between levels of in rack protection. FM indicated they think 13' is acceptable. FM was unable to supply engineering equivalency that 13' was acceptable. Mark Senteno Fire Marshall agreed to allow the 13'. He seemed to believe that FM was in the position to be able to make an informed decision.
