The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of adding sprinklers on either side of a new fire barrier as required to maintain Ordinary Hazard Group II spacing. The sprinklers are required above and below in all areas with a ceiling and above only for areas without a ceiling.

(LIBRARY PLAZA!)(FIRE RATED WALL) To construct a 2-hour fire barrier wall with added protection per alternate approval and approved plans, creating an 11,400 sq. ft. fire area north of this new wall and a 49,734 sq. ft. area on the south side of new wall. The wall will have an extra layer of gypsum board installed beyond the indicated 2-hour assembly and have structural columns within the wall individually protected per UL Design No. X526 (copy attached). There will also be high-density sprinklers installed on each side of the fire rated wall (high and low) for the full length of the wall. The fire rated wall will extend through the front entry canopy to the face of the facia and into the canopy that extends to the west back over the roof. The entry canopy has existing high-density sprinklers from a previous approval. This is a Scope of Work Permit. A Letter of Completion is to be issued when done. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase. The building area, however, exists as over allowable area based on previous approval to use specific increase to GMP of sprinkler system in specified areas. This new fire rated wall will help with life safety by creating separate compartment fire areas within the building. Alternate Approval and Upgrade Agreement for the building attached to this permit.
