Description	This fire alarm permit is to replace the existing fire alarm panel with new to accommodate an elevator upgrade (all elevators). The building will be upgraded to accommodate current visual notification requirements due to the FACP replacement. Devices for elevator recall functions shall be new and addressable, other existing devices to remain as circuited, with the existing zones being re-landed on the new FACP. This fire alarm control panel is addressable and conventional. HVAC functions have not been shown on the plans. There is no associated building permit. NOTE TO INSPECTOR: An early start agreement has been approved for this project. The existing initiating devices are to remain as-is unless those devices are replaced and/or relocated; in which case the devices shall then be required to meet current code mounting and spacing requirements.

Spoke to Dan Hockett of State Fire and let him know that I need him to email me the battery calculations for the FACP and a bill of materials. There were many data sheets provided that do not pertain to this project, so a parts list of some sort is required to decipher what is relevant. He indicated he would be emailing me all the information by tomorrow.

I went to the job site due to questions on the 1st floor plans layout and discovered there are significant discrepancies between the submitted plans and the existing layout. These differences include, but are not limited to, corridors, rooms, and walls not shown on the plans, rooms shown on the plans that do not exist, etc... The plans must be resubmitted to accurately show the existing layout of the building. I met Stacey and made him aware of this information. At that time, he also said he's waiting to hear back regarding changing the FACP rather than replacing the existing smoke detectors.

Stacey with Red Lion called to ask if he could try to get a different (new) FACP that is compatible with his existing smoke detectors rather than replace the existing smoke detectors to match the submitted (new) FACP. I told him that it was possible but he would need to work that out with the submitting contractor. He asked that I 'pause' the review while he looked in to his options. He let me know he'd try to call before the end of today.
