Description
Fire Work Scope:

The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of extending an existing wet pipe gridded sprinkler system. The existing system is supplied by 8" C-900 underground piping, 8" backflow preventer, 8" riser and 8" feed main. The primary and secondary mains are both entirely 6" pipe. The existing branch lines are 3" pipe and the new branch lines will be 2½" pipe. The area under this permit will be storing group A plastic on wood pallets, no shelves, on racks to a maximum of 25' high. ESFR sprinklers will be utilized to protect this storage. The racks will be storing Coca products packaged cartoned, Powders ordinary combustibles---free flowing-In paper bags(e.g., flours, sugar), Empty Plastic cottage cheese containers Group A Plastics, Cartons unassembled neatly piled.

There is no associated building permit. However, a portion of the building was sprinklered under permit FIR09-00734. An upgrade agreement was filed on 02-10-10 and attached to permit FIR09-00734 for the remainder of the building to be sprinklered.

The pedestrian walkway between the two buildings was approved by the building code examiner.

The fire marshal, Mr. Mark Senteno approved the existing building access and doors. No changes are required, other than a complete fire sprinkler system.

Plan Mod Scope of Work:

Complete the scope work previously approved in the permit FIR09-00734. The work consists of a small tenant finish of a few offices and storage rooms. The new piping layout and pipe sizes match the previously approved layout and pipe sizes; therefore, new hydraulics are not required. This scope of work is all that was reviewed under this plan mod.

Plan Mod Two Scope of Work:
Added one new sprinkler line to provide protection around a flexible duct that was causing an obstruction issue. This scope of work is all that was reviewed under this plan mod.

The previous wall/draft stop/ needs to be removed out in the warehouse area and Storage Room 115 sprinkler pendants are too far down from the deck but still installed 8" above the t-bar/ceiling. Also in this room the flex ducting is creating alot of obstructions to the sprinkler coverage.

Need to remove the smoke curtain/draft stop. Need hydro test. Need the "load splitters" hanger assemblies for the main addressed per tim frost. On closet on the second floor has a ceiling and has not been provided sprinkler protection. Also the sprinkler piping located above the first floor ceiling in the office area needs inspection.
