Associated building permit: BLD09-00857 Boise Airport - Customs and Border Protection Facility - To construct a new 5,145 square foot, one story Customs and Boarder Protection small plane international flight customs terminal. This terminal will be constructed of masonry exterior walls with steel structural roof and interior frame construction. This permit will also include related site improvements. This building will be fully fire sprinkled. There is an existing warehouse building that is being demolished and removed at the building site. The demolition is being done under permit BLD09-00404. Spoke with Phil Bassick at Tri State Electric regarding the plans. There is a releasing system shown in the sprinkler system submittals that is not indicated in the fire alarm plans. I gave him the option of either resubmitting plans showing the connections and added smoke detector, or providing a plan modification prior to calling for an inspection. I explained that the plan modification would involve additional fees, but that he would be able to get going on the work now with approved drawings. He opted to have the plans approved with the understanding a plan modification (incorporating the redlines, review comments, and field modifications) would need to be submitted and approved prior to calling for a final inspection.

Spoke to Rob to let him know there is a stamped engineered set of fire alarm plans in the building plans, therefore they are to be the engineer of record. I let him know I need a letter from the engineer indicating they have reviewed the plans. The designer listed on the permit application will be changed from Rob Ahten to the designer from CSHQA.
