The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of a wet pipe gridded sprinkler system. The system is supplied by 8" C-900 underground piping, 8" backflow preventer, 6" riser and 6" feed main. The primary and secondary mains are both entirely 6" pipe. The branch lines are 2½" pipe. The area under this permit will be storing group A plastic on wood pallets, no shelves, on racks to a maximum of 25' high storage. ESFR sprinklers will be utilized to protect this storage. The racks will be storing Coca products packaged cartoned, powders ordinary combustibles---free flowing-In paper bags(e.g., flours, sugar), empty plastic cottage cheese containers Group A Plastics, Cartons unassembled neatly piled.

The building adjoining this building via the pedestrian walkway was sprinklered under permit FIR09-00734, FIR10-00238.

The pedestrian walkway between the two buildings was approved by the building code examiner.

The fire marshal, Mr. Mark Senteno approved the existing building access and doors. No changes are required, other than a complete fire sprinkler system.

The offices 100, 102, 103 and 104 are actually being used for storage of paintings. These areas will need to be addressed as Ordinary Hazard. Also per the fitter the ceilings in these same areas are not going to be installed. Resubmittals will be required. That being said the sprinkler piping can be covered. All of the overhead sprinkler piping was inspected today and passed except a lift will not be available until next week to verify heads, distances from the deck and hangers. There are still hanger issues being addressed by the plan reviewer and Treasure Valley Fire. So hangers and sway bracing has not been inspected yet. Insulation neeeds to be installed at the deck as discussed above the upper mezzanine offices and the insulation that is hanging down in the warehouse needs to be repaired.

Sent the following email to Ron Steinquist and Jim Darr at Treasure Valley Fire Protection

Ron, Jim

I received a return letter from my inquiry regarding the structural loading on this project. It appears that Ron was involved with Lochsa Engineering during the evaluation and therefore knows of my concerns. Jim has shown a number of different hangers on his drawing. One of the hanger uses the Afcon 770 bracket which will be attached to the wall. According, to the engineering analysis the mains MUST be hung from the wall not off of the trusses. Please, submit manufacture's data sheets of this hanger and fasteners for review (They may be emailed). In addition, it appears that "load splitters" are required to be installed. This is obviously not in your contract. However, the field inspector will not be able to final the sprinkler installation without these members installed. Therefore, please, coordinate with the party to whom you are working for on this project.

Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
