The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of changing the existing fire protection to light hazard to protect the new school occupancy. Since there is change of occupancy the facilities fire protection must meet current code standards. An exception was given for no backflow preventer and seismic bracing due to being unreasonable per IFC: 104.8. If a backflow preventer was installed; the additional pressure loss from the backflow preventer would cause pipe size changes. The system is supplied with 4" underground, 4" riser and feed main. The branch lines are telescoping.

Building Department Scope:

This is an occupancy use change. To remodel an existing 11,200 sq. ft. office building changing occupancy to an educational school use per approved plans. Work to include select interior demolition of non-bearing walls & finishes (BLD10-01396); construction of new non-bearing walls to create classrooms, community room, library, computer/art and admin support areas. Install two, new, fully accessible restrooms and accessibility compliant drinking fountains; install cabinetry, sinks and modify plumbing, electrical, mechanical, sprinkler & alarm systems.
