The Fire Sprinkler Plan Mod Scope of work consists of adding extended coverage dry sprinklers inside of a new testing booth. The sprinklers are being installed on return bends since the branch piping is in a heated area. The designer indicated that there was surface mounted obstruction. It is assumed this is the reasoning for using extended coverage sprinklers (16’x16’ spacing).

This permit was originally a quick permit. Adding, relocating and deleting 35 sprinklers in 3 different locations to accommodate new wall and ceiling configuration.


Building Department Scope:

(HEWLETT PACKARD)(BUILDING 5SS - INDIGO LABS) Remodel within a 4,200 sq. ft. area in existing building for relocated/reconfigured Indigo lab test chamber, presses and support areas; to add enclosed area of 207 sq. ft. to include new reinforced concrete footing/piers & slab; steel columns, beams & roof deck; standing metal seam roof & insulated perimeter wall panels; construct interior walls to create Toner Collection room, Mechanical Room, Indigo Lab Chamber and Press Room; to add new doors & hardware or modify existing doors and hardware; interior wall, floor & ceiling finishes; upgrade of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler & alarm systems; all per approved plans. Mechanical equipment / ducting modifications / additions are to serve the needs of the Indigo Testing Lab and support areas environmental requirements. NOTE: This building fully fire sprinklered for allowable area increase, unlimited area with 60' all around. Separate applications, plans, approvals and permits are required before any work can be performed on the sprinkler and alarms systems as regulated by the Fire Department. drs
