Telephone call  1/14/2011 DONE
Brian with SimplexGrinnel called to discuss the elevator alternate recall. Per Brian, the elevator is not capable of doing alternate recall, so he wanted to know A) what documentation we needed (i.e. as-built vs. plan modification); and B) what to do with the smoke detector on the 1st floor (i.e. remove it, program it for something else etc..). He proposed leaving the modules for the alternate recall in case the elevator is eventually upgraded. I agreed and asked him to provide as-built drawings (2 sets) with a new one-line indicating those modules are for 'future' alternate recall and a revised matrix with a note or indication that the elevator is not capable of alternate recall but leave the function there for 'future use'. He then proposed to have the 1st floor smoke detectors wired to the modules just not programmed for recall yet. I told him that would be fine as long as it is noted somewhere on the drawings that it is currently programmed for general building alarm but is wired up for alternate recall pending future elevator upgrades.
