The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of changing all sprinklers on the basement and first floor to quick response type. Some sprinklers will be added, relocated and deleted to accommodate the new wall configuration.


Building Department Scope:

(DRAKE COOPER BUILDING - CORE REMODEL) This building is fire sprinklered for code trade-offs. To remodel the building core at the 8th Street entrance and in the basement. Work is to include a new stairway to the basement, a 3 stop wheelchair lift with 90 degree side exit/entrance, and a 1-hr fire-resistance-rated separation between the basement and the non-rated lobby on the 1st story. The non-rated lobby on the 1st story, in part, functions as the continuation of an existing stairway enclosure (enclosed like a 1-hr corridor) that serves the 2nd story. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. Fire sprinkler heads in the basement and on the 1st story will be replaced with quick-response heads. Tenant improvement work for “SunErgy” on the 1st story was done under permit BLD10-02758, tenant improvement work for “RDG Filings” on the 1st story was done under permit BLD10-02759, and tenant improvement work for “IntelliScience” in the basement was done under permit BLD10-02760. **CJW**

Spoke with Don Curtis. I mentioned to him that all sprinklers are required to be quick response type by the building department. He did not have quick response shown on the drawing. Theerfore, he told me to put the project on hold until he remedies the situation.
