Spoke with Colton of Simplexgrinnell regarding the elevator hat light. He stated the hat light in the elvator is not functioning and wanted to know if he could just put a cover plate over it. I told him that if he could get written verification from the state elvator inspector stating that the hat light functions are not required then he could plate over it. Otherwise, it will have to perform the required functions per NFPA 72. I let him know if he is able to obtain verification that the functions are not required, then he is to provide that to the inspector at the final inspection (not email, fax, or bring to me).

The phase II fire alarm testing is complete. An item noted was any general smoke detector alarm would recall the elevator which is not allowed. I agreed to "sign off" for this phase II work but the elevator recall will need to be addressed prior to a final sign off on this project.
