The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of remodeling a four-story building. The sprinklers are being changed in various locations through out the building. The existing fire protection is apparently based on extended coverage sprinklers with a spacing of 18’x18’. The system is supplied through 6” underground piping to 4” and 3” cross-mains with 1½” branch lines. ALL sprinklers are now required to be quick response type since the corridors are now non-rated.


Building Department Scope:

(MWI VETERINARY SUPPLY - ENTIRE BUILDING) Fire sprinklers used to substitute for the 1-hr fire-resistance-rating of the building. To remodel an existing building (basement, 1st story, 2nd story, and 3rd story) for a new office tenant. Each story has a floor area of about 15,000 square feet. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, new or relocated doors, millwork, and finishes. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. The fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
