Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of system 8 ONLY. This system protects approximately half of the subfab area (lower level). The sprinklers are space at the junction of the concrete waffle construction. The system is a 4”x4”x1½” grid. The system is supplied by two 8” connections to a 10” loop underground. The two 8” lead ins are equipped with a yard PIV. A free standing FDC on top of a pit is also included in this scope of work. There is additional fire protection below three large ducts running east to west due to obstruction issues.

Plan Mod #1
The underground supply feeding the north riser was changed from a loop supply into the building to a dead end feed into the building. The north riser was revised accordingly.

Building Department Scope:

Micron Building B50 - R&D Building - To construct a new 111,005 square foot, two story, with 71,855 square foot basement, concrete and steel semiconductor fabrication R & D facility and related site improvements. Please, see below email regarding piping without continuous marking.

Ken,

Concerning the issue with 4” galvanized Schedule 40 pipe in area 8 at Micron Building 50. The pipe is supposed to be marked every 24” with manufacturing and listing data according to NFAP 13.

As per the documented Mill Report that indicates the 4” ASTM A53 Grade A Schedule 40 pipe passed the UL inspection and this particular batch of pipe was designated Heat #11123 and that the tags noted indicate that the pipe is ASTM A53 Grade A Schedule 40 and a UL symbol is on the tag and the tag also indicates that each of the 3 lifts is part of Heat #11123.

I believe this information is sufficient to be an alternative to the required markings and approve of the use of this pipe.

Thank You,

Ron Amandus

Spoke with Paul. He said the panels were non combustible aluminum. There will be a vesda detection system and smoke detection system. The smoke detection will be in the ductwork. They will be cross zoned.
Telephone call  6/29/2011 DONE
Talked with John Ronan and Paul. John informed me that the space below the raised floor would be non-combustible or limited combustible. Special composite materials are being utilized. I asked him about the 200 degree intermediate temperture sprinklers. He agreed that they should be regular temperture sprinklers not intermediate.

Sent Paul an email and told him I still have not heard back from him in regards to the panels and flooring.
Telephone call  6/27/2011 DONE
I called Paul at Micron on Friday and left a voice mail. I called Paul at Micron again this morning. I asked him to tell me if the "1" Walkable Clean Room panels were combustible. He told me he would email me with the information. He also told me that he thought the panels and the floor above was perforated. I told him I was concerned that the response time of the sprinklers would be significantly impacted.
