Description	This fire alarm permit is to extend the existing manual fire alarm system (with voice evacuation) in to the remodeled area. Notification is being added and/or relocated and wired in to an existing circuit. Pull stations and the hood suppression system monitoring are being connected to the existing SLC. Associated building permit: BLD11-00885 (ST. MARKS CHURCH - KITCHEN REMODEL - NORTHWEST CORNER) Fire sprinklers used for building area increase. To remodel a 2,114 square foot area located within an existing church building to create a 1,318 square foot full service kitchen, 2 classrooms, and a hallway extension. The work is to include interior nonbearing walls, two grease hoods with grease ducts, a steam hood and duct, kitchen equipment, and finishes. Structural work includes new door openings in an existing bearing/shear wall, modifications to existing roof trusses, and support for the grease hoods. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. Spoke to Rick at Northwest Fire & Security to let him know I would need to deny the plans. The permit application indicated Dave Maxwell (factory trained) as the designer, however the building plans (BLD11-00885) have engineered fire alarm drawings stamped by Robert A. Moulder. I explained to Rick that the plans would need to go to Mr. Moulder for him to review and either stamp or sign a letter indicating he's reviewed them and they meet his design intent. I let him know the plans (both sets since I can't review them) would be available at the front counter for him to pick up.
