The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of addition and remodeling of a portion of a school. The main riser will be relocated and new bulk main has been provided. A portion of the system is a grid with a side feed main. The remainder of the system is a tree. The construction is wood trusses therefore, there is above and below protection throughout.

The underground was modified under per FIR11-00299


Building Department Scope:

Bishop Kelly High School - Administration and Main Entry Remodel and Addition - To demolish and remove approximately 7,100 square feet of existing building that contains administrative offices and a storage garage area. To reconstructed that portion of the building to contain reconfigured administrative offices and accessible restrooms and to construct a 5,375 square foot addition that will contain a new main entry, lobby/study area, waiting area, new student commons and new men’s and women’s accessible restrooms. This permit also includes the construction of a new exterior entry plaza and other associate site improvements. This addition and remodel is being done on the northwest side of the high school. All construction shall be per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM -TRF-

The sprinkler piping in Corridor 222 can be covered. As-builts are approved. To final the project a sticker is needed for the outside alarm bell, forward flush of the backflow, sprinkler work finished at the main entry/foirer and testing of the flow switches. Also a sprinkler system coverage/zone map is needed at the risers for fire dept use.

Mike and I discussed not installing the two pendant heads in the soffit surrounding the sky light in the main entry/lobby. It is less than 4' at all points and typically only 18" wide. The sky light is covered by a sidewall sprinkler head. I'm ok with deleting the two soffit pendants. We also discussed scheduling cover inspections for the remaining areas

The city approved drawings were found and I compared them to the as-builts. They seem to match except that the two remote areas, Main Lobby and Banquette Room, are not shown on the as-builts.

The overhead piping in the new addition area is complete except for the drops and the Main Entry area. These two items will need to be inspected when completed prior to a cover being given to cover the piping with the lay-in ceiling tile. The sprinkler piping above the hard lid areas of the new addition is ok for cover. The installation so far matches the provided as-builts. The city approved plans were not available and will need to be provided prior to any more inspections.
