This fire alarm permit is to extend the existing manual system in to the remodeled areas. This permit scope of work includes adding a pull station to a new exit, relocate a pull station, and add a strobe only (to be tied in to an existing NAC) to accommodate the remodel.
Associated building permit: BLD11-01562 (LAKEWOOD MONTESSORI SCHOOL CLASSROOM REMODEL) - This building is not sprinklered. An exit door from each classroom is provided directly to the exterior as exception to not sprinkle. Remodel a 1,237 sq. ft. portion of the existing 13,693 sq. ft. building. Work includes select demolition; relocating a portion of the exterior wall that is currently inset under the roof, to construct a new 2 x 6 frame wall and finishes, to be in line with existing exterior wall line on both sides adding approximately 165 sq. ft. to the existing classroom area; adding a new GLB with support in location of original bearing wall; construct a new interior non-bearing wall dividing the existing classroom into two classrooms; modifying the interior wall of an existing storage room and installing a new accessible restroom within the enlarged room; remove portion of existing CMU wall after adding steel angle support, then grouting perimeter cells and installing HSS8" x 4" x 3/16" steel support frame, anchored into newly grouted perimeter CMU with expansion bolts; relocate several doors and infilling opening created with framing and finishes; add new millwork counter with accessible sinks in each of the new classrooms; electrical and plumbing upgrades and interior finishes in the new rooms. Scope of work will increase the total floor area by 165 sq. ft. but will not add to occupant load based on existing Boise city Day Care license with no change of existing occupancy use classifications, all in accordance with the Certificate of Occupancy issued under BLD07-01372.
