Associated building permit: BLD11-02578 (NATURAL GROCERS) (CZC11-00225) This building has a fire sprinkler system for building area increase and for fire area. To remodel an existing 20,120 square foot building for a new retail sales tenant (grocery store). A demonstration kitchen classroom will be provided. It will be an A-3 Occupancy. In addition, the existing steel roof trusses will be altered to increase their capacity to support added equipment loads on the roof. An interior nonstructural demolition and partial permit was issued on December 7, 2011. See BLD11-02862 for the extent of work allowed under that permit. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural calculations, and with all adopted codes and ordinances. Special Inspection is required for welding and epoxy anchors. Modifications to the existing steel roof joists and girders are required to be in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications. A separate permit is required for storage racks where storage will be more than 8 feet above the floor. The structural design for the steel stairway is a deferred submittal item. The fire alarm is required to comply with NFPA 72 and the fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**

The minimum End of Line voltage did not meet the requirements of fire alarm plan review note #20. The city approved plans indicate that 14 guage wire is to be used on the notification circuits. Instead 12 guage wire has been installed from the FACP to a junction box in the Boiler room. 14 guage has installed from the juction box to the horn/strobes. Provide as-built drawings showing the actual wire guage and routing if needed.

AEI provided revised voltage drops that showed "point-to-point" calculations rather than a general "10%", therefore the note regarding the voltage drops shall now read as follows:
Approval is subject to field measurement of the EOL voltage drop. For appliances with an operating voltage range of 16V – 33V, the minimum acceptable voltage is 19.6V with the AC power off. Any measurement below this voltage will be considered insufficient to run the NACs at the end of useful battery life of 20.4V. UL 864, Standard for Control Units for Fire Signaling Systems. The installing contractor shall have available at final inspection a voltage meter and measure end of line voltages; witnessed by the field inspector
