Tim w/ Crane alarm called. He wanted to know if they pull the mag locks out if they could get a temporary occupancy. I told him I can't authorize temps, but I did give him another option. I said that as long as his city approved plans matched the install (i.e. without the mag locks) that if his system passed inspection he would not need a temp due to this and I could cancel the plan modification that was submitted to add the locks. However, I told him in order to cancel the plan modification, I would need an email from him and a letter from the owner/representative that states they understand that a separate fire alarm permit would need to be applied for and approved PRIOR to installing the mag locks. I asked him to include in the email what their intent is (i.e. remove the mag locks and put the system back to the way it was already approved) and indicate if he wants to pick up his plan modifications or if he wants me to recycle them. I also let him know that adding the mag locks would not qualify for a quick permit because they would be adding a new circuit. He said he would get back to me.

Received emails from Tim at Crane alarm, From Joe Cacioppo (pastor of the church), and Jesse Ferrer (general contractor) stating they understand that a fire alarm permit will need to be submitted and approved prior to installing mag locks at the church. Tim asked that he pick up the cancelled plans rather than me recycling them.

Canceled due to time constraints. Per agreement inspection is rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 7:30am. Also per tim he has not installed duct smoke detectors in some units that are missing. I asked him to bring as-built drawings showing the deleted devices. And that in the future if the devices are installed an additional permit will be required.
