All items as far as permit scope of work are completed. The fire alarm panel has existing issues with double addresses and apparently faulty tamper switches. These items need to be corrected/repaired prior to a final sign off on the tenant permit.

I spoke with Deputy Chief Gervais regarding possibly placing an annunciator panel at the rear entrance to the tenant since there is a fire department connection there. After a brief discussion, it was agreed that an annunciator panel in that tenant space would not be necessary.

Spoke to the fire alarm designer regarding the full notification shown. I asked if this was due to customer request (as it is not required by IFC). He stated that he is used to working with AHJs that require full notification in these types of buildings even when code does not require. I stated that since code does not require it, and if the owner does not want it there as a voluntary system, then the plans need to be revised to provide sprinkler monitoring only with HVAC, a pull station, a smoke detector above the FACP, and the remote annunciator panel (if the FACP is not located at the main entrance). He stated the owner would be relieved to find out the full system is not required.
