Description
This quick permit is to provide a horn/strobe in a new open office/waiting area on the 1st floor due to a tenant improvement. Approval is subject to field measurement of the EOL voltage drop. The voltage drop calculations are based on a 10% drop, therefore the minimum acceptable voltage is 21.6V with the AC power off. Any measurement below this voltage will be considered insufficient to run the NACs at the end of useful battery life of 20.4V (per UL 864, Standard for Control Units for Fire Signaling Systems). See NFPA 72 2010 Handbook 18.3.2.3 for further assistance with calculations. The installing contractor shall have available at final inspection a voltage meter and measure end of line voltages; witnessed by the field inspector. There are no written review comments. Associated building permit: BLD13-00222.

Quick permit plans denied - no written review comments. The floorplans were not to scale, therefore notification coverage could not be verified. The building permit provided is for the 1st floor, however this quick permit scope of work is on the 2nd floor - clarification needed. More information is needed in the project description (i.e. why is the notification being added - was a wall moved, did a room type change, no room names are shown). Resubmit with checklist items complete (i.e. north arrow, scaled bar graph, plans to 1/8"=1'-0", indicate half-walls, show existing covereage in areas open to the new coverage area).
Miscellaneous action  4/9/2013 DONE
Applicant emailed with detailed information as to why the plans have been denied. No written review comments (quick permit)
