Received a phone call from Forest regarding the use of electronic smoke detectors in un-heated elevator lobbies. I informed him that it would not be acceptable since the detectors would be outside of the temperature range of their UL listing. An acceptable design would be to use non electronic heat detectors monitored by a module that was located inside of a heated area.
