I called Paul Permann of Simplot Aviation to discuss options for their non required system. He indicated that they have heat detection in the hangar and smoke detection in most office areas. He was concerned that if the fire alarm system was brought up to date that it would drive other building updates that had been grandfathered in. I let him know that they could maintain their non required system but would have to bring it up to current code and that this would not drive other upgrades.

I emailed Dale Hurd to let him know that the owner would like to maintain their non required fire system but that it would have to be brought up to current code. I informed him that a resubmittal would be required.
