Plan Mod resubmittals were received under FIR14-00560. I called Jonathan and told him to void that permit and resubmit under the original permit. Inditial review had a few items that were not right compared to what Troy had told me. I called Jonathan & left a message for him to call me to discuss some corrections.

Todays testing was for the second floor only. All devices function correctly except a new NAC panel has been installed on the second floor and the new audio devices do not sync with the existing audio devices. Per myself and Lee's conversation with the contractors, plan modifications are required prior to a final sign off for the entire project but the sync issue needs to be addressed prior to second floor occupancy. All fire alarm devices were to function correctly as per phone/email conversation with the fire alarm contractor dated 7/7/2014.

Rob Ahten called to let me know he found the site to have 2 existing fire alarm panels. 1 on each floor. The existing Pyrotronics panel triggers the Notifier panel but the Notifier does not trip the Pyro. Also, there are existing devices that do not appear to be required and are randomly placed. I discussed the multiple panels with Scott Arellano. He indicated that if all works properly then it is allowed as an existing condition. If not, corrections need to be made or there can only be one system.

I emailed Rob to let him know that since they were existing systems, 2 would be allowed but reset and location signage would be required at each panel, all equipment and functions must work properly and that no required detection in the Area of Work would need removal. Otherwise only 1 system would be allowed. A plan mod will be required either way. Troy Cobbley was copied on the email.
