ADD/RELOCATE 9 QUICK RESPONSE SPRINKLER HEADS DUE TO THE NEW FULL HEIGHT WALL PARTITIONS.
[BLD-16-01509] - The fire sprinkler system is used for high-rise and for occupancy. To remodel the nurse cores within Care Suite A, Care Suite B, and Care Suite C within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located on the 2nd story of St. Luke’s Hospital. Work is to include expanding Care Suite A by about 44 square feet by constructing a new wall required to comply as a smoke partition as required for a Care Suite and as a 1-hr fire barrier as required for an incidental use separation. A new non-rated non-combustible partition wall will also be constructed. Work is to include new millwork, new finishes, modular furniture, modular wall systems, suspended acoustical ceiling grid and tile, and equipment. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. This is a scope of work permit only. The existing Certificate of Occupancy remains valid. This permit does not establish a new Certificate of Occupancy. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
