Cap and remove the pipe inside of the area that is being demolished. The 3 sides of the demolished area that are adjacent to the remaining area will have 100% full coverage from the remaining fire sprinkler system. During the shut down time to cut and cap the 2 main lines, Shilo will provide a fire watch. This should only be 1-2 hours. Shilo will give advanced notification to the Boise Fire Department before shutting the system down.

(BOISE CENTRE PHASE III INTERIOR DEMO – SUMMIT MEETING ROOM AND ADJACENT RESTROOMS) (10-31-16 PLAN MODIFICATION TO REMOVE TWO ADDITIONAL INTERIOR MASONRY BEARING WALLS AND TO REMOVE THE LOWER ROOF THAT THE WALLS SUPPORTED. THE EXISTING WALLS THAT WILL REMAIN WILL BE BRACED TO GRADE BEFORE THE ROOF DIAPHRAGM IS REMOVED. THE TEMPORARY PEDESTRIAN BARRIER WALL WILL ALSO BE RELOCATED.) The fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and for fire area. To demolish and remove the tiered concrete slabs and the supporting fill within the audience seating area of the former “Summit Meeting Room” within the Boise Centre Convention building. The 2nd story composite floor slab, beams, and columns that formerly served the upper portion of the audience seating area will also be removed. An area of about 7,000 square feet is affected by the demolition. Adjacent restrooms on the 1st story will also be demolished. To facilitate the removal of materials, some masonry walls will also be demolished. No new work except for necessary column bracing, support of existing construction, and pedestrian protection is allowed under this permit. Existing columns will be braced to grade prior to removing existing floor systems. The existing structure supporting the building roof is required to be maintained. The egress system serving occupied areas of the Convention Center is required to be maintained in a safe condition to adequately provide for emergency egress per the submitted life safety plan. Pedestrians shall be adequately protected from construction hazards including equipment movement. This permit is not intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any portion of this building. New work will be done under a future permit. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the column bracing plan and supporting structural calculations, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 72 as regulated and required by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any demolition work on such systems. **CJW**
