The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of a new 6” supply to a 4” backflow preventer and riser supply a 4”x4”x1 ½” grid protecting a single level medical office building. The structural elements are steel.
• The underground fire protection is under permit FIR17-00107
[BLD16-04253] – The fire sprinkler system is used for code trade-offs including allowing a non-rated corridor and for fire flow. To construct a 12,803 square foot medical office building (outpatient clinic) and to finish it for occupancy. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete stem walls, concrete piers, concrete slab on grade, steel bearings studs, light gauge steel headers, steel stud shear walls with wood structural panels and hold-downs, steel stud nonbearing walls, steel stud exterior walls with drainable exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS), adhered stone masonry exterior veneer, exterior windows, permanent metal shade awnings at exterior windows, steel roof beams, steel columns, open web steel roof joists, steel pan deck roof diaphragm, foam plastic insulation installed on top of the steel roof deck, TPO roofing membrane, 6 restrooms accessible to the disabled, interior doors, millwork, and finishes. Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, steel, bolting, welding, and possibly EIFS. The design for the open web steel roof joists is a deferred submittal item. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the approved structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. The installation and use of X-ray equipment, including shielding, is required to comply with all applicable Industry, State, and Federal regulations. All equipment shall be listed and labeled per the adopted Electrical Code with approval from the PDS Electrical Inspection Team. **CJW**
