Emailed Gary Powers to inform him that the resubmittal was being returned for corrections. No corrections have been made since the previous 2 submittals, no product data provided. I provided a link to the 600 series fire alarm forms and told him to have his designer contact the premit desk if they still have questions on proper upload proceedures and requirements. Gary responded to say that his designer is working on them now.

Jason Carver - PCS field tech called to ask if duct detectors were required to be alarm or supervisory devices. I informed him they need to be supervisory. I also informe him that since they don't even have a permit application under review that they are not allowed to be performing any type of installation.

10 calls from Gary Powers regarding review status and differences of opinion on mechanical design requirements. I told Gary that it appeared that the mechanical system was ducted, due to the layout of fire smoke dampers. He said that he didn't know if it was ducted or not. I told him that this needs to be determined. He sent me what he though was the mechanical design set but was actually a compilation of the fire alarm drawings, and various fire alarm and building permit reviews. I informed him the mechanicals were not included and he eventually got them to me. The mechanical design has a total of 61 ducted fire smoke dampers. I discussed this with Gary and he insisted that they were not required and that he has not had to do this in the past. I informed him that section 607 of the mechanical code addresses this and that he will need to meet these requirements. I informed him that if he can provide an exception to this requirement in the mechanical code, that I will accept it. I also noted that I hand not seen over current surge suppressors that are required between buildings on fire alarm circuits.

Cindy Barnes finally submitted printed drawings for the building and the two other buildings at this site under a new tidemark permit (FIR17-00256). I contacted her on the phone and informed her that each building needed to be submitted for seperate permits. I also informed her of various design items that needed correction prior to resubmittal. She will upload to the correct projects in eplanreview. (FIR17-00232, 00233 & 00234). FIR17-00256 is to be voided.
