Went over strobe spacing with the electrian. I noted several strobes that will need to be relocated or increased candella. I'm questioning the placement and function of smoke detector 81 in the Gymnasium.

The low air switch has been replaced and tested. The strobe in Room 9 has been replaced and tested. The fire alarm system in the existing school is complete except for some of the doors do not swing shut when the door mag released. To final project the doors will need to be addressed, as-builts and the new portion of the school will need to be completed.

Today we tested the interconnection of the existing fire alarm devices with the new panel. All devices on the existing risers functioned except the "low air" pressure switch on the System #1 did not function. It will need to be replaced asap as discussed.

We tested the smoke detectors and notification devices today. All functioned except for the strobe in the back of Room 9. I also noted several doors that did not swing shut when the door mags released.

For todays inspection I only verified device locations. I noted smoke detectors needing centered on the door on the classroom side. Per a later phone call from Lee these detectors are ok to be deleted as long as the distance from the header to the ceiling does not exceed 24". I also noted many strobes that are overspaced in nearly every classroom and atleast one in the main corridor. I noted that the communication means being used is not what is shown on the approved plans. As-builts will be required but possibly for plan mods.

Nathan emailed to indicate the originally planned panel is no longer in production and will be replaced with a Silent Knight 6820XL-EVS. I informed him that as built drawings and calculations will be required at the completion of the project that indicates the changes.

Some classroom walls appear to be blocking the strobe. I emailed charlie to have him verify the height of the walls to determine actual requirements.
7/24/18 Charlie responded to say the walls are full height and that they will need to add strobes. Plans to be returned for corrections.
