S1 occupanciy does not require notification. Previously, the owner has elected to provide audiblility in the S1 portion of the building. This new design adds strobes to the new area and replaces the fire alarm panel. Previously spoke with Adam regarding the strobes. Told him that they would be allowed if the new area was seperated nad there were no changes to the existing system and structure. If changes took place, entire system would need to add strobes. This submittal indicates that changes were being made to the existing which would drve the full upgrade. Discussed the situation with Jason Blais. He felt that if the owner has future plans to add strobes throughout, strobe coverage in this protion would be allowed. If not, they should stay with the audible throughout to match existing. Informed Adam of this and he will address it with the owner.
