SRZ** To construct a new 50' X 100', 5,000 square foot, One story, VB-non rated, commercial shop building and related site improvements for a powder coating business. The building will be constructed of CMU exterior walls with painted CMU banding, a concrete slab floor, open web joist roof structure with mechanically fastened single-ply roofing. All work per the approved plans, attached plan review comments, and conditions of all reviewing agencies for this project. Racking exceeding 8' in height is NOT approved under this permit. spoke with Joel Bradshaw with Boise FIre and let him know about the addition of the oven to this permit. Let him know separate trade permits are required to be pulled and approved for the connection and hook up of the oven prior to final of this permit. He said he is ok with this.

Spoke with and received an email from Gordan with NACFR. Explained the addition of a spray booth to this permits scope of work requires an engineered mechanical design for mechanical plan review approvals prior to issuance. I offered to call the architect and request the additional mechanical information.

Called the architect Tom Collins with Steed Construction and requested a fully engineered, stamped and signed, mechanical design for the addition of the spray booth. Let him know the exhaust for powder coating is regulated by the 2009 INC and IFC. He stated he would get the mechanical design and submitt to Garden City.

I spoke with Romeo and Gordon with the Fire department. Waiting for answers to Fire reviews questions. Additional building/mechanical reviews might be required based on the design professionals answers to fire review. Mechanical exhaust and Fire extinguishers and non-combustible wall construction for powder coating processes could be required. I called Garden City and let them know. Waiting for responses.

Spoke with Leon w/ Garden City, Tom Collins the Architect, and Gordon with the Fire department about the confusion about the Fire sprinkler protection for this building. The architect meant to not provide fire sprinklers. There is no building code reason to require fire sprinklers. I requested Leon to re-route back to fire plan review to verify the removal of fire sprinklers would be ok per the Fire code. Issuance is pending Fire review approval
