To construct an interior remodel of an existing 2,482 square foot (1493 sq.ft. 1st story / 989 sq.ft. 2nd story) Single family dwelling which will increase the 2nd floor by an additional 108 square feet for a new walk-in closet. Work to include: demo select interior walls on the 1st story and 2nd story and provide new bearing per plans; relocate the master bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet to the 2nd story; and resize the existing bedroom on the 2nd story. The Building Official has determined carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards to be specific hazards associated with buildings and/or structures without smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes. Carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards are substantial hazards because the likelihood of death and or injury from said hazards increases in buildings and/or structures. The existing portions of buildings or structures with non-existent or inadequate smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes must be retrofitted to meet current code requirements. **SRZ**
