Single family home remodel - To construct an interior remodel to this existing 1,245 square foot existing Single Family dwelling. Work to include: Remove an existing gas fireplace; move an existing non-bearing interior wall in the kitchen location; remove an existing bath tub and replace with a walk-in shower in the master bathroom; move one wall and remove another in the master bathroom to create additional closet space; and lower the vaulted ceiling in the master bathroom. All work per the approved plans, attached plan review report, and all other reviewing agencies approvals. The Building Official has determined carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards to be specific hazards associated with buildings and/or structures without smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes. Carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke and fire related hazards are substantial hazards because the likelihood of death and or injury from said hazards increases in buildings and/or structures. The existing portions of buildings or structures with non-existent or inadequate smoke and carbon monoxide detection and alarm systems that do not meet current building codes must be retrofitted to meet current code requirements.
