On the Additive Alternate work on the corner of Ash/River, the ped ramp should be positioned such that the existing utility pole does not obstruct the ADA landing at the top of the ramp. Also, there should be a bid item to relocate the fire hydrant either to a point behind the sidewalk or closer to the TBC so that it doesn’t block the pedestrian route. As shown in these plans, the hydrant is right in the middle of that route.

1. Per ACHD Policy Section 7200 for Collector roadways, attached sidewalk should be a minimum of 7.0’ wide. This would apply to the small section of attached sidewalk being reconstructed adjacent to 1190 W. River Street.

2. In order to improve maintainability, irrigation and to provide a better bike/ped route, please straighten out the sidewalk on NW corner of Ash/River, similar to the redline shown below. (See memo provided to Ron Hill on 6/15/18).

3. Can the proposed ped ramp throat on the NW corner of Ash/River be widened to 6.0’ to match the width of the River Street sidewalk?

4. The existing ped ramp and sidewalk on the NE corner of Ash/River is noncompliant. Is there any opportunity to improve that ped facility with this project?
