Application for inspection to determine requirements for issuance of a certificate of occupancy for a 1,430 sq. ft. building or portion thereof in accordance with Resolution 13533. Area consists of 467 sq. ft.1st floor; 482 sq. ft. 2nd floor; and 481 sq. ft. basement. This building was previously used as offices for CSHQA and is proposed for same type of use by future tenant. NOTE: This building is currently on the National Register of Historical Places built in 1897 per statement in record on file. Building Official, Tim Hogland has approved the existing walls, openings, roofing, stairways (winder stairs, exclusive of required handrails) & structural frame to remain "as is" based on plans on file (Fiche #970536). Any new improvments or modifications are required to comply with current code under which the work is done and requires submittal of application and plans for review and approval for said work before any work can be done. THIS PERMIT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE ANY TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION.

After reviewing the file for this project, I discovered that special allowances were originally made by the Building Official for the original permit allowing existing conditions to continue under the 1991 UCBC and his consideration after he walked through the facility (Copy of comments in file), based on the facility being on the National Historic Register. I further review the records found under fiche #970536 to see which plan indicated the best details of those items required and existing conditions that could remain as long as they are not modified or added to. I copied a different plan detail layout than Mr. Thorien obtained because of the original plan review comments noted thereon by the plan check divisions of the building and fire code analysts.

Met with Mark Thorien, future proposed tenat for 210 N. 6th Street. Mr. Thorien want sot have assurance that he can obtain a certificate of occupancy for the existing building before he obtains the building. I sent him to the Records Div. to obtain copies of the existing floor plan layout previously approved for CSHQA as office space. Mr. Thorien obtained two copies of permit BLD1052241 from records. I gave him and Miscellaneous application form to complete for use with past plans to be used for issuance of a MIS permit to allow inspection of the existing facility under Resolution 13533.
