INTERMOUNTAIN HOSPITAL - Application for inspection to determione requirements for issuance of a certificate of occupancy for a 2,500 sq. ft. building or portion thereof. Original building occupancy use group was assigned as "B", Classrooms for hospital patients. Installation of Locks on exit system doors to building exterior in order to control patients requires the building to comply with and be reclassified as an Occupancy Use Group "I3, Condition 2", under the 2000 IBC and Letter of Agreement on File between PDS, FD & Facility Representatives. Also to verify that the rated corridor wall in the North Patient Wing Building, surrounding Nurse Station 104 (see plan), is 1-hour construction from floor to bottom of 1-hour grid and that all openings are protected with appropriate listed fire / smoke assemblies. The North Patient Wing is allready classified as an "I3" occupancy under the UBC. drs

Application for inspection for issuance of a new C.O. showing a reclassification of the occupancy use group from a "B" to and "I3, Condition 2" because of the installation of locks on the exterior exit doors from the building for control of patients. This is per the Letter of Agreement on file.
The North Patient building, an existing "I3" occupancy under the UBC, has a different location for the corridor wall than is shown on the original approved plans. The corridor wall now runs around behind the Nurse Station 104, which is acceptable if the wall is 1-hour & opening protection is provide in compliance with UBC (20 minute, labeled, self-closing, gasketed door assemblies; smoke/fire dampers and actuation devices at duct penetrations that open between rooms & corridor). Verify compliance. This change was discovered by the Boise fire dept. during an annual inspection.
