Matt Rhees called to say the proposed tenant, Unisource Worldwide, Inc. for 300 Steelhead Way wants to use the area originally designated on plans as Mechanical Mezzanine for use as Light-Storage (125 psf or less), original tenant use in county when space was used by Bigelow Tea, per report from Matt Rhees. Matt is submitting new plan with occupancy use designated as light-storage and engineering for existing TJL90 floor system for 24 foot span, spaced at 16" o.c. Occupant load for mezzanine storage is 6. Reviewed resubmittals with code requirements of the 1979 UBC which would have been in effect in Boise City at time of construction and would have goverened construction requirements. One exit required from Storage Mezzanine per section 3302, 1979 UBC and maximum 200 feet travel distant from any point to an exterior exit in a fully sprinklered building. Plans submitted from Matt Rhees along with structural load data for Truss Joist TJL90 floor joists show code compliance as submitted.

Received copy of new plan sheet from Matt Rhees, architect, describing the class I - IV commoditites to be stored by Unisource. I took the new plan to Sam Rogers, fire code analyst for review. He stated the data submitted by Matt was not the same as he (Sam) had received on the phone from Ryan Cooper at Unisource. Sam had written up his report based on data from Unisource and would use that information for the permit. I attached the new sheet A1.0 and red-lined a not on both sheets refering the tenant and inspectors to the fire depat. plan review attached.

Checked past history for permits and occupancy for this building and tenant. There are outstanding items that were never resolved and permits were expired or are still open. Space 346 is declared by architect, Matt Rhees, as being vacant. This was an SCP tenant space and they have moved out. 300 Steelhead was also occupied by SCP Global Technologies and is vacant. 368 Steelhead is still occupied by a glass co. but per records has never met requirements to obtain a C.O. 322 Steelhead is occupied by Hardwood, Inc. under C.O. 4832 issued 11/19/92.

Called Matt to review request of fire depatrment for list of storage items from Unisource; removal of the high pilr storage comment on the plan indicated by the astrisk; a not after the Commodity Classification I, II & III to say NO OTHER COMMODITY CLASSIFICATIONS ALLOWED. I also told him const. type of past permits is IIIB rather than VB. Matt said he would get storage details from Unisource but will wait for written request from fire code analyst before responding to other items. I told him that the permit fee's for the MIS permit will be based on an hourly rate of $44.10 while going through the review process and for inspection, to be paid at time permit is picked up.
