Talked with Tony Young. He didn't see a problem. The coffe kiosk that was moved from the 1st floor to the basement floor area of this tenant was approximately 2' x 6' and a couple of chairs had been set up by the coffee station for patrons to sit and relax.
Telephone call  3/16/2011 DONE
Called CDH Environmental Health Staff, Betsey, who researched her records and said that Cole-Marr served coffee and pastries which are not regulated, meaning a license was not required.
Meeting  3/16/2011 DONE
Talked with Bev Mountain & Connie Baumgartner in PW to see if they wanted to visit the site and make sure there were no requirements or fee's based on PW requirements. Connie reported back that everthing was okay.
Miscellaneous action  3/16/2011 DONE
Researched permit history. BLD03-01925 was issued for the original basement tenant space, B-100 and a certificate of occupancy was issued. BLD08-00659 was issued to remodel space 154 on the first floor and construct a spiral stairway between levels on the 1st floor to basement. The 1st floor space was classified as an "A3" occupancy and had its own required exits on the 1st floor. The spiral stair was for convenience and not a required exit. A new Certificate of Occupancy was issued for the new area and occupancy group for Cole-Marr.
An electrical permit had been taken out for new 220 circut on the basement level to relocate the coffee kiosk to the basement level. Tenant was not going to use the upper level on a regular basis, however it is still considered a part of her space based on plans on file until separate application and plans are submitted to create a new tenant space for others. The upper level is secured to provide security to the tenant space but must continue to comply with egress requirements from the room side as originally approved. I called Kristen Maricle and told her based on information and reports I received from CDH, PW and Structural Inspector and the plans of record, she did not have to do anything else at this time.
Final Permit  3/16/2011 DONE
Sent e-mail to jason Blais, Building Official concerning action taken.

Kristen Maricle, tenant Cole-Marr, at 404 S 8th, came in to see what she was required to do. This MIS permit was found. I ask her if she had a written notice from the structural inspector giving her instructions based on his instructions. She did not.I told her I would call her after having a chance research the history of her tenant space and to talk with Tony Young, Structural Inspector.
