THIS BUILDING IS FULLY SPRINKLED W/ SPRINKLER SYSTEM USED AS SUBSTITUTE FOR 1-HOUR FIRE-RESISTIVE CONSTRUCTION. There is a smoke control system originally required to allow the atrium per the 1981 NFPA "101", Section 6-2.2.3.1 & 26-4.3. The continuing proper functioning of the smoke control system SHALL be verified as a condition of this permit. The smoke control system shall be activated byany of the following: 1) smoke detectors located at the top of the atrium and adjacent to each return air intake into the atrium; 2) a fire alarm system; 3) the fire sprinkler system; 4) and manual controls which are readily accessible to the fire department.
