To divide existing building into 4 control areas, by construction of 1-hour occupancy separation walls between the designated areas, per footnote #1, Table's 3-D & 3-E, 1997 UBC. This is being done to allow the existing declared occupancy use groups to remain because each designated control area has been declared as having hazardous quantities of IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol @ 90 - 100 % concentration) within the exempt quantities of product allowed by UBC Table 3-D and 3-E, as per approved plans on file. Work to include upgrade of existing walls or construction of new walls, roof/ceiling or floor/ceiling, U.L. listed (or equal) 1-hour assemblies to create the required 1-hour occupancy separation to create the four control areas. Openings & penetrations W/I the occupancy separations SHALL have an equivalent fire resistive rating of 1-hour or greater. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for allowable area increase, considered to be one building of Type V-N construction, "B, S-1, F-1" Occupancies, 60 feet of open yard all around per Section 505.2 '97 UBC.
