(SECOND CHANCE BUILDING REUSE CENTER)(FURNESS BLDG) Remodel for a new 9,490 sq. ft. retail and storage warehouse tenant in an existing 14,352 sq. ft. building per CUP04-00133, DRH05-00009, and approved plans. Work to include constructing a new interior 3-hour rated fire barrier wall to roof deck at the east wall of the tenant space, some new interior walls and doors, insulating and providing gypsum board on existing walls that had pegboard, new draft stop in attic, new exterior awnings/canopies, CMU infill in some existing openings in the west and south exterior walls, upgrading restrooms to current accessibility standards, interior finish, mechanical work, plumbing work, and electrical work. Special Inspection required for epoxy/adhesive anchor installations at masonry infill work and for structural welding at the awning/canopy construction. No storage racking exceeding 8' in height allowed in the space. East wall of this space is a 3-hour rated fire barrier wall to reduce the fire areas in this building to less than 12,000 sq. ft. South wall of this space is a 2-hour rated exterior bearing wall based on type of construction located 8' to the centerline of the alley with 12" parapet and unprotected openings. The north wall is a 2-hour rated exterior bearing wall based on type of construction with unprotected openings.
