(FOSTER BUILDING SEISMIC UPGRADE) This building will be fire sprinklered for story increase and for future code trade-offs. To upgrade an existing 8,665 square foot, 4 story with basement historic building (5 stories total). Each story has a floor area of about 1,733 square feet. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete shear walls, concrete beams, wood floor infills, floor and roof sheathing, bolted connections between the diaphragms (i.e. floors and roof) and the perimeter walls, steel headers and trimmers at new wall openings in masonry walls, an interior basement stairway, new roof insulation and roof covering, seismic joints between this building and the adjacent buildings, 3 hour fire doors, and new steel beam hangers. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, the structural design, the plan review report, and all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
