To alter an existing 25,556 square foot building (2,102 square foot usable basement, 7,991 square foot crawlspace basement, 11,155 square foot 1st story, and 4,308 square foot 2nd story) in preparation for a future retail tenant. Five new openings will be created in an existing interior masonry bearing wall. In addition, part of the 1st story floor will be lowered about 12 inches. Work is to include steel headers, steel jambs, a new stairway to the basement, interior bearing pony walls, and interior nonbearing walls. Interior nonbearing walls and an existing mezzanine will also be demolished under this permit. The East wall of the 2 story portion of this building was upgraded to be a 3-hr fire wall under permit BLD07-01315. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
