(MERCHANTS MOVING & STORAGE) There is an upgrade agreement on file, established under BLD05-00127, for installation of a fire suppression system in the areas noted on the attached upgrade agreement plan as 'Warehouse #1' and 'North Loading Dock', immediately behind the main office. FIR07-00374 has been issued by the fire department for installation of the required sprinkler system and this permit scope will address the construction of a 135 sq. ft. addition at the northwest corner of the main office building for use as a fire sprinkler riser room. The 'Office" & "Maintenance Shop" will NOT be sprinklered. These two areas, as designated on attached upgrade agreement plan, are separated from adjoining buildings by an existing 2-hour area separation wall. As the 'Office' area is not being sprinklered, the 2-hour area separation wall shall be reviewed for code compliance for protected openings and penetrations (see notes on plans). Due to proximity to property line, < 5', the west wall of the fire riser room addition is fire-rated with a parapet and without openings for that portion running parallel to the property line, per the approved plans. Scope of work includes concrete foundation and slab; wall & roof structure framing & covering; brick veneer and Cedar siding; electrical, plumbing, sprinkler & alarm systems; and new metal roof covering on existing office roof area to tie into the new. CZC07-00154 drs. (RESUBMITTAL 2/19/2008) approved for construction of riser room in interior of existing building.All other code provisions regulating 2 hour wall seperating office and warehouse are applicable.
