(IDAHO AQUARIUM) (11-23-11 PLAN MODIFICATION TO ALTER THE SIZE OF SOME AQUARIUMS AND TO CONSTRUCT SOME ADDITIONAL INTERIOR NONBEARING WALLS. THE PROPOSED CHANGES DO NOT MATERIALLY AFFECT THE PREVIOUSLY ESTABLISHED OCCUPANT LOADS OR EGRESS SYSTEM.) Fire sprinklers used for building area increase and for fire area. To remodel an existing 9,245 square foot tenant space within an existing 40,800 square foot building to be used as a public aquarium. Work is to include 2 restrooms accessible to the disabled, a high and a low drinking fountain, interior nonbearing walls, gypsum board ceilings over the restrooms, over 1,735 square feet of aquariums (the large 1,765 square foot aquarium that will have a water depth more than 28 inches will be installed in the future under a separate permit), interior doors, and interior finishes. The site built aquariums constructed under this permit are limited to a maximum wall height of about 32 inches and a maximum water depth of about 28 inches. Aquarium walls will be constructed of solid grouted masonry with #4 rebar 8 inches on center each way. Vertical rebar will be anchored at least 4 inches into the existing concrete floor with epoxy. Special Inspection is required for the epoxy anchors and masonry grout. Joints and slab cracks running parallel to the aquarium walls are not allowed be located closer than 24 inches to the aquarium walls. The 1,765 square foot area where the future aquarium will be constructed is not approved for occupancy and is required to be provided with approved barricades to discourage occupancy. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural design, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
